This is a list of mostly software tools I use everyday. They make my day much easier. You should go check them out. I do not get any money from recommending them, just pure honesty to make your life easier as well.

Also I am a big open-source advocate and I would always chose an open-source application over a proprietary software, if there is a feasible alternative. Just like Gabriel García Márquez once said:

So chose wisely what data you share with whom.

I try to write separate blog posts for each tool when I have the time, to show you exactly how I use them. In the meantime you can go ahead and try them out for yourself.

• Thunderbird for emails

Productivity

• Asana for project management
• Libre office as a great open source alternative to Microsoft office
• Nextcloud for cloud storage
• Deepl as a translator that’s even better than Google
• Brave web browser - blazing fast and with integrated ad block
• Duck Duck Go private search engine
• Jitsi Meet for video conferences
• VS Code or Atom for code editing
• FlorisBoard as a open source android keyboard
• Kubuntu 20.04 LTS as my desktop operating system (also open source)
• Linneage OS with microG services as my mobile operating system

• Audible for audio books
• Duolingo for language learning when I’m commuting
